Best of NYFW Spring '13 Part One

Some of my favorite collections and trends so far.....

As I have mentioned before, CFDA Award winner, Altuzarra is one of my absolute favorites and I was thrilled to see what was in store for spring. The Moroccan/gypsy inspired looks from fall {thankfully} carried over to spring, but this time with gold tassels and neck scarfs. There were also amazing vented coats inspired by street style stars and fashion editors who drape jackets over their shoulders like capes. With the handy vents, you can keep your coat on but keep your arms cool in the heat. Geniusssss. Now who wants to chip in and buy one with me. We can share, I promise.

Inspired by Helmut Newton photographs, Jason combined his usual ladylike looks with one part dominatrix. There was a mix leather and lace, sheer black numbers with exposed corset seams, leather bralettes (PS.. bralettes are huge for spring...start doing crunches), and pretty dresses were topped with leather harnesses.
Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman were clearly inspired by India and Bollywood while making this extraordinarily ornate spring collection. The collection was full of bold colors from hot pink to chartreuse and there was plenty of tassels {which can also be seen in quite a few spring shows}, saris and intricate beadwork.

Until part two...
